Caution Barricade Tape for Site Safety

This yellow polyethylene tape is printed with a black "Caution" legend and measures 3 3/4 inches wide by 500 feet long. It meets OSHA 1910.144 (a) standards for marking physical hazards. The 6 mil thickness provides tear resistance for temporary outdoor or indoor barriers. Facility managers and maintenance crews use it to restrict access around hazards.

Sustained Outdoor Exposure Performance

The reflective polyethylene material maintains visibility in low-light conditions over extended periods. At 6 mil thick, the tape resists tearing from wind stress and incidental contact better than thinner economy grades. It stays flexible in cold temperatures without becoming brittle. The adhesive-free design allows removal without residue after the hazard is cleared.

OSHA 1910.144 (a) Compliance Limits

This tape satisfies the standard for marking caution-level hazards with yellow and black colors. It does not meet requirements for "Danger" legends or red/black color schemes specified for immediate life-threatening hazards. The 500-foot roll length suits linear perimeter runs but requires multiple rolls for large-area enclosures. Reflectivity aids visibility but does not replace lighting for night work zones.

Questions about this item

Will the 6 mil polyethylene tape tear or fade after weeks of sun and wind on a job site?

The 6 mil polyethylene construction resists tearing and UV exposure, so the yellow caution tape stays intact and visible through extended outdoor use.

What posts or stakes do I need to string this 3 3/4 in wide tape across a worksite?

You will need standard barricade posts, stakes, or fencing with compatible tie points; the tape itself has no built-in fasteners or adhesive.

Does the OSHA 1910.144 compliant legend work with older metal A-frame barricades we already own?

Yes, the reflective yellow tape with black "Caution" lettering meets OSHA 1910.144 and can be tied to any existing A-frame or post system.
