Craft Stems

Chenille Kraft 911001 Jumbo Stems are bendable chenille-covered wires sold in a 1000-piece box for classroom and hobby use. The assorted colors support a wide range of decorative projects. Each stem measures 12 inches long with a 6mm diameter. The crush-resistant polyester coating helps the stems hold their shape during handling.

Material Benefit

The metal wire core allows repeated bending without breaking, so stems can be reshaped for different crafts. Polyester fibers provide a soft texture and bright color that resists fading. Reusability reduces waste for group activities. The jumbo thickness makes them easier for younger crafters to manipulate than standard stems.

Age Limit

Recommended for ages 8 and up, the wire core poses a poking hazard for younger children. The 12-inch length may be unwieldy for very small hands. Assorted colors are pre-mixed; specific color counts cannot be guaranteed. The product contains no adhesive or structural fasteners for load-bearing builds.

What limits how many 12" stems I can use in a single large project?

The practical limit is the 1000 stems supplied in the box; each stem measures 12" x 6mm and can be bent repeatedly without crushing.

Do the metal-wire cores in the 1000 stems generate heat or noise when bent all day?

No, the metal-wire and polyester stems operate silently and produce no heat during continuous bending or shaping.
