Anodized Aluminum Sheet Pan

The Chicago Metallic 40952 is a half-size sheet pan made from anodized aluminum. It measures 17 3/4 inches by 12 7/8 inches with a 1-inch depth. The 14-gauge construction provides rigidity for daily kitchen tasks. This pan suits home cooks and professional bakers needing a standard half-sheet format.

Oven-Safe Solid Surface

The solid, closed-bead rim contains batter and prevents warping at high temperatures. Anodized aluminum resists corrosion and reacts less with acidic ingredients than bare aluminum. The pan is oven safe but not dishwasher safe, requiring hand washing to preserve the finish. It is also not rated for freezer use.

14-Gauge Anodized Aluminum Build

The 14-gauge thickness determines heat distribution and resistance to bending under heavy loads. Buyers who need a perforated surface for air circulation or a non-stick coating for effortless release should choose a different pan. This model offers a durable, uncoated aluminum surface for general-purpose baking and roasting.

The anodized finish is integral to the aluminium and does not require re-coating under normal use.

At what temperature does the 14-gauge aluminium begin to warp?

The 14-gauge anodised aluminium resists warping at typical baking temperatures.

Does the 1.7 kg pan become too hot to handle safely after a full day in the oven?
