What it does and who uses it

The CIGMAN CD-60 is a dual laser distance meter that measures up to 393ft in bidirectional mode and 196ft in unidirectional mode with ±1/8inch precision. It suits professionals and DIY users who need quick length, area, volume and Pythagorean data on construction sites, in warehouses or during home renovation.

Practical limits of the laser interface

Class II laser output stays below 1mW, so the beam is safe for momentary eye exposure but requires care not to stare directly. Maximum reliable range reaches 120m only when both forward and backward beams have clear line of sight; bright sunlight or reflective surfaces can reduce effective distance.

What it replaces and when to upgrade

It replaces single-beam tape measures and basic laser tools that require repositioning for each point. The jump is worth it when you regularly measure long spans, calculate room volumes or need continuous tracking without walking the full length each time.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the bidirectional mode or the unidirectional mode for my job?

Use bidirectional mode for the full 393ft range and +/-1/8inch precision without moving the tool, or unidirectional mode when you only need up to 196ft range.

What does the 393ft maximum actually deliver on a real site?

It gives a single-shot measurement up to 120m with 3mm accuracy, so you can span large rooms, warehouses or outdoor plots without repositioning the meter.

The laser is Class II with output below 1mW — what does that limit in practice?

The Class II rating means the beam is safe for momentary eye exposure, so you can use it indoors or on site without special laser-safety controls.
