Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point

The Cisco Catalyst C9124AXIB is a dual-band outdoor wireless access point built for high-density environments and Internet of Things deployments. It targets service providers and enterprises that need reliable connectivity for mobile clients and wireless backhaul links. The unit supports the 802.11ax standard to handle growing device counts efficiently.

Rugged design with flexible antenna options

The hardware is engineered for outdoor installation and offers a choice of internal or external antennas to match coverage requirements. This flexibility lets network operators balance signal reach against deployment simplicity in exposed locations. The rugged construction suits campus, stadium or municipal Wi-Fi projects.

Replaces older outdoor APs lacking Wi-Fi 6

The jump is worth it when existing outdoor infrastructure cannot serve the density of modern smartphones, tablets and IoT sensors. Upgrading brings the 5.38 Gbit/s PHY rate and the advanced scheduling of 802.11ax to the outdoor edge. Buyers who only need basic coverage for a few legacy clients will not see the benefit.
