Meraki MR46 cloud-managed access point

The Cisco Meraki MR46 is a new dual-band wireless access point supporting 802.11ax and 802.11ac Wave 2 standards. It delivers an aggregate frame rate of up to 5.9 Gbps using an 8x8:8 radio configuration. The unit is designed for organisations that manage Wi-Fi through the Meraki cloud dashboard rather than on-premises controllers.

DC-powered installation with cloud licensing

The MR46 operates from an external DC supply, so a compatible power adapter or PoE injector must be sourced separately. Physical mounting is straightforward, but the device will not pass traffic until it is claimed in a Meraki organisation with a valid licence. Buyers without an existing Meraki tenancy or cloud subscription cannot use the hardware.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the MR46 is delivering the rated 5.9 Gbps throughput after installation?

The Meraki dashboard shows real-time client throughput and AP utilisation charts; compare the reported aggregate rate against the 5.9 Gbps figure during peak load to verify performance.

What ships with the MR46-HW and which mounting accessories must be ordered separately?

The box contains the MR46 access point only; mounting brackets, PoE injectors and DC power adapters are sold as separate Meraki accessories.
