24-port managed Gigabit switch

The Cisco Catalyst 2960-L provides 24 RJ-45 ports at 10/100/1000Base-T speeds plus four SFP+ uplinks for 10GBase-X connectivity. It runs Cisco IOS Software with Layer 2 switching and basic Layer 3 routing including static routes and RIP. The fanless design allows silent operation in noise-sensitive environments up to 45°C.

Fits standard racks with shallow depth

At less than 11.5 inches deep the unit suits tight wiring closets or out-of-closet mounting without blocking airflow. PoE+ delivers up to 370 W across the RJ-45 ports and Perpetual PoE keeps attached devices powered during switch reboots. RJ-45 and USB console ports give direct management access without extra adapters.

Replaces unmanaged or older 10/100 edge switches

The jump is worthwhile when you need managed VLANs, QoS, basic routing or PoE+ for phones and cameras on a single device. It is not for buyers who require full Layer 3 feature sets such as OSPF or BGP, or those needing higher port densities beyond 48 ports in a single unit.
