This CKLau KVM switch lets one keyboard, mouse, monitor and USB 2.0 peripheral control up to eight computers, laptops, DVRs or NVRs. It supports Windows, Linux, Mac, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and Raspberry Pi. All required input cables are included and the unit is rack-mountable for tidy installation.

Certified HDMI 3840x2160@30Hz Video Output

The single specification that determines compatibility is the maximum supported resolution of 3840x2160 at 30Hz, with additional support for 3840x1620@30Hz, 3440x1440@30Hz, 3840x1080@30Hz and 3200x1800@30Hz. Buyers needing 4K at 60Hz or higher refresh rates cannot use this switch.

Passive Operation With No Fan Noise

The device draws power from the connected USB ports and has no internal fan, so it runs silently. Normal use adds negligible load to host systems and produces no audible noise. Thermal output is minimal and requires no active cooling.

Questions about this item

What does the 3840x2160@30Hz headline resolution mean when I connect eight computers to one monitor?

The switch passes up to 3840x2160 at 30 Hz from whichever computer is active, so the single monitor shows that resolution without scaling or frame-rate conversion.

Which HDMI version does the switch use and what bandwidth limit does that impose?

Certified HDMI Adopter hardware supports the resolutions listed, capping output at 3840x2160@30Hz and the other stated modes.

What rack space and cabling does the unit need for installation?

It is a rack-mount design that includes all eight input cables, so it fits a standard rack and connects each computer directly without extra cables.
