Imperial Solar Post Cap

The Imperial Solar Post Cap is a white aluminium fixture that mounts on deck or fence posts. It contains a surface-mount LED powered by an included AA Ni-MH rechargeable battery. The unit charges by daylight and illuminates automatically at dusk for up to 10 hours.

Homeowners lighting standard posts

This two-pack suits owners of 4x4 or 3.5x3.5 posts who want maintenance-free accent lighting. The powder-coated cast aluminium resists weather without repainting. Buyers needing colour-changing effects, motion activation or higher lumen output should consider other fixture types.

Fits existing post tops

Each cap slides over the post top and secures with screws; the 3.5x3.5 adaptor is supplied for smaller posts. No wiring or transformer is required, freeing the installer from trenching or outdoor-rated cable. The 15 lumen, 4500-5500 Kelvin output provides subtle pathway definition.

Questions about this item

Does the Imperial Solar Post Cap need any wiring or an external power source to operate?

No, each cap includes a long-life AA Ni-MH rechargeable battery and a high-performance solar panel that charges during the day for up to 10 hours of automatic night-time illumination.

Will the 3.5 x 3.5 inch adaptor let me mount these caps on my existing 3.5-inch square posts without modification?

Yes, the included adaptor fits securely over a 3.5 x 3.5 inch post, while the cap itself also fits a standard 4 x 4 inch post, so older posts are supported without cutting or shimming.

How can I confirm the 15-lumen LEDs are delivering the specified 4500 to 5500 Kelvin white light after installation?

Wait for dusk; the caps should switch on automatically and emit a brilliant white glow — if the light appears dim or yellow, ensure the solar panel is clean and receives full sun, and verify the auto-off switch is in the on position.
