4-Inch PVC Backwater Valve

The CLEAN CHECK 97034 is a slip-connection backwater valve built for 4-inch PVC drainage systems. It prevents reverse flow in residential and light-commercial plumbing installations. The body and stem are both PVC and the valve meets ASME, IAPMO, ICC-ES PMG-1007, IPC, IRC, UPC and Wisconsin Clean Check standards.

Suited for gravity drainage lines

This valve fits horizontal or vertical runs where a simple socket joint is preferred and the design pressure does not exceed 75 psi. It is not intended for pressurised supply piping, hot-water circulation above 125 degrees F or applications that require a threaded or flanged connection.

Rated for continuous 75 psi at 125 degrees F

Under sustained load the PVC body and stem maintain seal integrity at the full 75 psi working pressure and the maximum fluid temperature of 125 degrees F. The slip socket allows direct solvent-weld installation without additional transition fittings.

Can this PVC valve handle the same 75 psi pressure rating as older metal backwater valves in the system?

Yes, the body and stem are PVC and rated for 75 psi max water pressure.

How can I confirm the flapper is sealing properly after installing the 97034 valve?

Run water through the line and verify no flow returns past the valve when downstream pressure builds.
