Standalone digitising station
The ClearClick Video2Digital Converter 3.0 is a self-contained box that turns analogue tapes and records into digital files without a computer. It accepts composite, S-Video and component sources plus RCA or 3.5 mm audio, then writes MP4 video or WAV and MP3 audio straight to a USB drive or MicroSD card. A 128 GB flash drive is supplied in the bundle. A 5-inch preview screen and rechargeable battery let you monitor and capture away from mains power.
Upgrade from PC capture cards
Earlier workflows needed a desktop, a capture card and recording software; this unit removes all three. The jump is worth it when you want a single button press, no driver installation and the freedom to digitise in any room. It does not suit users who need HD resolutions, HDMI input or real-time editing while recording.
Capacity and headroom
The included 128 GB drive holds many hours of 720x480 or 640x480 MP4 footage, and the MicroSD slot allows virtually unlimited swapping. Recording stops automatically at a user-set minute count. The USB 2.0 interface and fixed 480-line ceiling mean modern HD sources and high-bitrate workflows are not supported.
