This tap cuts a 1/4"-18 NPT thread with a 1 1/16 in thread length and a 75 percent thread drill size of .4375 in. High-speed steel with TiN coating provides wear resistance for carbon steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous alloys. It is not intended for very large diameters or high-volume production runs where carbide tooling would be required.
