Industrial Collar for Shaft Fastening

The Climax Metal Products C-400 is a set-screw collar designed to secure components on a shaft in power-transmission assemblies. It suits maintenance engineers and mechanics who need a straightforward locking method for pulleys, sprockets or bearings in industrial machinery.

Compatibility Checks Before Purchase

Verify the shaft diameter matches the collar bore and confirm the set-screw thread fits your existing hardware. Ensure the transparent material meets the chemical-resistance requirements of your application and review the Proposition 65 warning for regulated environments.

Thermal and Power Characteristics

As a passive mechanical fastener the collar draws no power and generates no operational heat or noise. Its temperature tolerance follows the base material limits, so ambient conditions in the drive system remain the only thermal factor to consider.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Climax Metal Products C-400 set screw collar and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the C-400 set screw collar only. Mounting hardware such as shaft keys, set screws or locking compound is not included and must be sourced separately.

Which version of the C-400 collar should I choose for my application?

The C-400 is offered as a single standard model; there are no alternative bore sizes, widths or material grades listed, so the one version fits the stated specification.

What does the Proposition 65 warning mean for daily handling of the C-400 collar?

The warning indicates the collar contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm; wear gloves when handling and wash hands afterward.
