Product identity

The Tritan 80BS24 is a finished-bore steel sprocket with 24 teeth for single-strand 80 chain. It fits a 1 1/2 inch shaft and includes a 3/8 inch keyway with two set screws for secure mounting.

Sustained-load behaviour

Black-oxide finish and steel construction resist wear during continuous power-transmission duty. The 8.2 inch outside diameter and 7.661 inch pitch diameter maintain consistent engagement with 80 chain over long runs.

Pre-order checks

Verify that your shaft measures exactly 1 1/2 inch and that the 3/16 inch keyway depth matches your key stock. Confirm the 1.175 inch hub projection and 4 1/4 inch hub diameter clear adjacent components on your equipment.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 80BS24 sprocket generate when running all day?

The steel sprocket itself produces no heat; any temperature rise comes from chain friction and bearing load in the drive system, not from the 24-tooth component.

What shaft and key stock must I already have to mount the 1-1/2 in bore sprocket?

A 1-1/2 inch diameter shaft with a 3/8 inch wide by 3/16 inch deep keyway, plus two set screws to lock the hub in place.

Will the 8.2 in outside diameter sprocket mesh with my existing 80 chain and worn teeth?

Yes, the 24-tooth, 1-inch pitch sprocket matches standard 80 chain; meshing quality depends on the chain's current wear, not the new sprocket.
