Metric Two-Piece Clamping Collar

The Climax Metal Products M2C-42-S is a metric two-piece clamping collar designed for shaft mounting in power transmission assemblies. It suits maintenance engineers and machine builders who need to secure components without dismantling adjacent equipment.

Split design for inline installation

The two-piece construction allows the collar to be fitted around an existing shaft without removing bearings, pulleys or other mounted parts. This arrangement frees up assembly time and reduces downtime during adjustments or replacements in confined spaces.

Sustained clamping under vibration

The clamping action relies on screw tension to maintain holding force during continuous operation and vibration. California Proposition 65 notices apply: the product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

What is the first limit that appears under sustained clamping load on the M2C-42-S?

The two-piece design distributes force evenly, so the initial limit is the screw torque rating rather than shaft deformation.

How much noise, heat or power does the M2C-42-S generate when installed all day?

As a passive metal collar it produces no noise, no measurable heat and draws zero power during continuous operation.

Which shaft diameter must I already own for the M2C-42-S to fit?

The collar is sized for a 42 mm metric shaft, so a 42 mm shaft must be on hand before installation.
