Finished-Bore Sprocket for #50 Chain

This new Tritan sprocket has 28 teeth and a 1 inch finished bore with a 1/4 inch wide keyway. It is made from steel with a black oxide finish and includes two set screws. The hub projects .907 inch through the bore for secure mounting on a shaft.

Sustained Drive Performance

The 5.582 inch pitch diameter and 5.92 inch outside diameter maintain consistent engagement with #50 roller chain under continuous load. Steel construction and black oxide coating resist wear during extended operation in power transmission systems.

Compatibility Check Points

Verify your shaft diameter matches the 1 inch bore and that the 1/4 inch keyway width suits your key stock. Confirm the .907 inch hub projection clears adjacent components and that two set screws provide adequate retention for your application.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the black-oxide 50 chain sprocket generate when running continuously?

The steel sprocket with 28 teeth and 5.92 in outside diameter produces negligible heat under normal chain speeds; any warmth comes from chain friction, not the sprocket itself.

What shaft and key stock are required to mount the 1 in bore sprocket?

A 1 in diameter shaft with a 1/4 in wide by 1/8 in deep keyway matching the sprocket's keyway dimensions, plus the two included set screws for axial locking.

Will the 5.582 in pitch diameter sprocket mesh with my existing 50 chain and worn sprockets?

Yes, the 28-tooth sprocket follows standard 5/8 in pitch 50 chain geometry; however, a significantly worn chain may not seat cleanly on the new 5.582 in pitch diameter teeth.
