Compact tethered barcode reader for retail

The Code Reader 1500 is a corded imager that decodes 1D, 2D and postal symbols with a patented dual-field optical platform. Its disinfectant-ready housing withstands repeated cleaning in clinical environments. The 6 ft straight USB cable provides a fixed connection to the host system. A US2 stand is included for hands-free presentation scanning.

US2 stand and 6 ft USB cable change daily workflow

The stand lets operators set the scanner down for continuous, hands-free reading at a checkout or receiving station. When a task requires mobility the tethered cable keeps the device attached while the user moves the scanner to the item. CodeShield plastics resist damage from common hospital-grade disinfectants. No separate power supply is needed because the USB link delivers both data and power.

Light-gray CodeShield chassis built for constant

The 3.0000-weight enclosure survives drops and repeated wipe-downs without cracking. A straight USB cable routes cleanly along a counter and plugs directly into a standard port. The compact form factor fits in cramped workspaces and mounts on the supplied stand without extra brackets. Buyers who need wireless freedom or a longer cable will need a different model.

Questions about this item

How often should the CodeShield housing on the CR1500 be replaced when using healthcare disinfectants?

The CodeShield housing is designed to withstand repeated disinfectant cleaning without degradation; no scheduled replacement interval is required.

What limits continuous scanning throughput on the CR1500 during all-day operation?

The 6 ft USB cable length and host-system processing speed are the practical limits on sustained scan rate.

How much heat does the CR1500 generate when scanning continuously for hours?

The compact imager runs cool during extended use; the 3.0000 g handheld body dissipates heat passively without a fan.
