Handheld FIPS barcode kit

The Code CR2702-100-A271-C36-FIPS is a new handheld reader built for point-of-sale workflows that require FIPS compliance. It suits retail, healthcare or logistics teams needing a light-grey scanner with integrated CodeShield protection.

Inductive charging and desktop base

The kit bundles a battery, a Bluetooth inductive charging station, a desktop base and a 6-ft USB cable so the unit can charge without contacts and sit ready on a counter. This removes separate power bricks and keeps the workstation tidy.

Plug-and-play with cable fallback

Pair the scanner via Bluetooth to a host, then drop it on the charging station between scans; the USB cable provides a wired fallback if wireless pairing fails. The only common snag is forgetting to seat the reader fully on the inductive pad, which leaves the battery uncharged for the next shift.

Questions about this item

How long does the battery last before it needs replacing?

The rechargeable battery is built into the CR2700 handset and charges on the inductive station; typical shift life spans several years before a swap is needed.

What limits continuous scanning during a full shift?

The CR2700's battery capacity sets the practical limit; the inductive charging station tops it up between scans to keep the kit running all day.

Does the inductive charging station or handset get hot when left on all day?

The charging station and CR2700 handset stay cool during continuous operation; the low-power Bluetooth radio and inductive coil produce minimal heat.
