Performance Core

The Colorfire MEOW R16 Pro pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 9850HX with 12 cores and 24 threads at 5.2GHz with an NVIDIA RTX 5080 Laptop GPU carrying 16GB GDDR7 at 175W. This combination targets gamers and creators who need 220W total system power in Turbo mode for 4K rendering, simulation work and high-refresh competitive play.

Installation Notes

The chassis provides dual SO-DIMM slots and dual M.2 sockets, so the 32GB DDR5 4800 and 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD can be expanded without removing the motherboard. A common issue is forgetting to enable the second M.2 lane in BIOS after fitting a new drive, which leaves the new volume invisible to Windows 11 Home.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The Cooler Pro thermal system uses six heat pipes and dual turbo fans activated by Fn+1 hurricane mode to manage the 220W envelope. Under extended gaming or render sessions the 300Hz 2560×1600 IPS panel maintains 100% sRGB consistency while clock speeds settle at the 175W GPU limit rather than throttling to a lower power state.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 inch 2560 x 1600 300 Hz display fit in a standard 16 inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis is built around a 16.0 inch 16:10 panel so depth and width are slightly larger than legacy 16:9 models; measure your sleeve internal dimensions against the laptop footprint before buying.

Can the 32 GB DDR5 4800 memory be expanded later and what is the maximum supported?

Two SO-DIMM slots are provided and 32 GB is installed; the platform supports up to 64 GB total so you can add another 32 GB kit when needed.

Does the 1 TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD leave a second M.2 slot free for extra storage?

Yes, the board includes dual M.2 slots; the 1 TB drive occupies one slot leaving the second slot open for an additional NVMe drive.
