Capacity and Headroom

The motherboards support up to 48 GB across six sockets in three banks of two. This kit fills two sockets with a matched pair for dual-channel operation. Further expansion is possible by adding identical registered ECC pairs in the remaining banks. Mixing x4 and x8 modules is allowed across different banks but not within the same bank.

DDR2 240-Pin Registered Requirement

Only DDR2 240-pin registered ECC DIMMs are electrically and mechanically compatible with these platforms. Unbuffered, non-ECC, or later DDR generations will not fit or function. Modules must be installed in matched pairs to enable dual-channel mode on the supported Supermicro boards.
