Matched 16 GB kit for MSI B250 boards

This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB DDR4 modules rated at 2400 MHz with CL17 timings. It is validated for MSI B250 Gaming M3, Gaming PRO Carbon, PC Mate and B250M Bazooka motherboards. The unbuffered, non-ECC DIMMs operate at 1.2 V and install in standard 288-pin slots.

Steady throughput at rated frequency

Each module runs at its specified 2400 MHz without downclocking when the platform supports that speed. The CL17 latency cycle repeats consistently across sustained workloads, so bandwidth remains stable during long rendering or compilation sessions. Dual-rank organisation helps keep the memory controller busy without extra commands.

Low-voltage operation keeps thermals modest

At 1.2 V the sticks draw minimal power and produce little heat even under continuous load. No heat spreaders are fitted, so airflow from the case fans passes directly over the chips. Acoustic contribution is zero because the modules have no moving parts.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.2V DDR4 kit run warm or draw much power when the system is on all day?

The modules operate at 1.2V and are unbuffered non‑ECC DDR4, so power draw and heat stay low during continuous use.

What motherboard slots and CPU generation do I need for this 288‑pin 2400 MHz kit to work?

It fits four 288‑pin DDR4 slots on MSI B250 Gaming M3, Gaming PRO Carbon, PC Mate or B250M Bazooka boards; 7th Gen CPUs run 2400 MHz, 6th Gen CPUs run 2133 MHz.

Will the CL17 2Rx8 sticks work alongside any older DDR4 modules I keep in the other two slots?

Yes, the kit is 2Rx8 CL17 at 1.2V; matching voltage and timing lets it run with existing DDR4 sticks, though the system will clock all modules to the slowest speed.
