2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM for Toshiba Mini NB505

This 2GB DDR2 800MHz SO-DIMM is built for Toshiba Mini NB505 series netbooks including the N508Bn, N508Gn, N508Or and N508Tq models. It uses a 200-pin unbuffered non-ECC design running at 1.8V with CL6 timing. The single module upgrades one of the two memory sockets in these systems.

DDR2 800 speed and 2GB module ceiling

The NB505 platform accepts either PC2-6400 (800MHz) or PC2-5300 modules but cannot use DDR3. Each of the two SO-DIMM slots supports a maximum of 2GB, so total system memory tops out at 4GB. This module fills one slot at the highest speed the chipset allows.

Replaces slower or smaller DDR2 sticks

Swapping a 1GB or 5300-speed module for this 2GB PC2-6400 stick adds capacity and bandwidth within the platform's fixed limits. The upgrade is worthwhile when the netbook currently runs a single 1GB module or operates at the lower 5300 speed. It does not help systems already at the 4GB maximum or those needing DDR3.
