A 16GB kit of two 8GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 SO-DIMM modules for the 2011 15-inch MacBook Pro with a 2.2GHz Core i7
This 16GB kit contains two 8GB DDR3 1333MHz SO-DIMM modules built for the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Early 2011 with a 2.2GHz Core i7 processor. It matches the PC3-10600 speed and 1.5V voltage that the original system requires. The unbuffered, non-ECC design fits the factory memory slots without modification.
Each 204-pin stick inserts directly into the two available SO-DIMM sockets under the bottom case. No heat spreaders are present, so clearance inside the slim chassis is not an issue. The only common mistake is seating a module at an angle; press firmly until the side clips click to avoid a no-boot condition.
Apple's original specification capped this model at 8GB, but the platform actually addresses 16GB when both sockets are populated with 8GB 2Rx8 modules. This kit provides that maximum supported amount. Buyers who need more than 16GB of system memory cannot use this product.
