16 GB DDR3-1333 ECC registered quad-rank kit validated for Dell PowerEdge T310 servers
This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB DDR3-1333 registered DIMMs built for the Dell PowerEdge T310 server. It targets administrators who need to reach the platform's 32 GB registered memory ceiling with quad-rank modules that carry ECC protection.
The modules slot into the 240-pin DDR3 sockets without tools, but the platform's chipset forces quad-rank DIMMs to run at 1066 MHz in the first dual-channel bank and 800 MHz in the second; a third bank is disabled when quad-rank memory is detected. Mixing these registered sticks with unbuffered ECC UDIMMs is not supported and will prevent boot.
Verify that your T310 uses Xeon 3400 series processors, because Celeron, Pentium and Core i CPUs require unbuffered ECC instead of registered DIMMs. Confirm the system has free RDIMM slots among the six available and that you are not exceeding the four-module quad-rank limit imposed by the memory controller.

Check the POST memory count or BIOS setup screen; it should show the full 16 GB and report ECC Registered operation at 1333 MHz, 1066 MHz or 800 MHz depending on which Xeon 3400 processor and bank population are installed.
The kit contains two 8 GB 240-pin DDR3 ECC Registered DIMMs (model CM10247210600ECCR4R8); no cables, tools or additional parts are required if the server has free RDIMM slots.
This 2 x 8 GB quad-rank kit fills two of the four supported quad-rank RDIMM slots; select it when you want maximum capacity per module and the system uses a Xeon 3400 CPU that requires registered memory.
