32GB DDR4 ECC Registered Kit

This 32GB kit contains four 8GB DDR4 2400MHz modules built to the PC4 19200 standard. Each stick is a 288-pin registered DIMM with ECC and a 2Rx8 organisation. The memory runs at 1.2V with CL17 17-17-17 timings and uses major-brand chips without heat spreaders. It is intended for servers and workstations that require registered ECC memory.

Registered ECC Requirement

The decisive specification is the registered ECC design; the motherboard must accept RDIMMs and cannot mix them with LRDIMMs. The kit is validated only for the ASUS Z10PA-U8, Z10PE-D16, Z10PE-D16 WS and Z10PE-D16/10G-2T boards. Systems that need unbuffered non-ECC modules or that limit registered memory to fewer slots will not support this kit.

Thermals and Power

Operating at the standard 1.2V DDR4 voltage, the modules draw minimal power and run cool enough for passive airflow in a typical server chassis. No heat spreaders are fitted, so adequate case ventilation is the only cooling requirement. Acoustic output is negligible because the memory has no moving parts.

Questions about this item

Will the 2400 MHz speed actually run at that rate in my ASUS Z10PE-D16?

The memory will clock down to the optimal speed supported by the installed processor, so the final operating frequency depends on the specific CPU model.

Does the registered ECC design require a specific motherboard slot type?

Yes, these 288-pin DDR4 RDIMMs are only compatible with the listed ASUS/ASmobile motherboards that support Registered ECC memory; mixing with LRDIMMs is not supported.

What physical clearance do the four 8 GB modules need inside the chassis?

The kit uses standard-height 288-pin DIMMs without heat spreaders, so they fit the eight DIMM slots per CPU on the validated boards without extra clearance concerns.
