2GB DDR2 533MHz SODIMM module upgrades Dell Latitude D420 notebooks to 2.5GB maximum memory
This module is a 2GB DDR2 533MHz SODIMM built to the PC2-4200 standard. It uses a 200-pin unbuffered non-ECC design with CL4 4-4-4 timings at 1.8V. The part is validated for the Dell Latitude D420 notebook.
The part is validated for this model only and will not fit laptops that require a different pin count or voltage. Buyers who need more than 2GB of memory or a second module should look elsewhere because the system has one socket and a 2.5GB maximum.
The 200-pin DDR2 SO-DIMM form factor is the single specification that decides fitment. If the target machine does not accept 200-pin DDR2 modules at 533MHz this upgrade will not work.

Yes, it matches the 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM form factor used by the Latitude D420 and the system has one SODIMM socket.
Insert the stick at an angle until the gold contacts disappear, then press down firmly until both side clips click; the D420 will only show 2 GB when the module is fully locked.
Replace the module if the notebook fails to POST, shows repeated memory errors, or cannot maintain the rated 533 MHz CL4 4-4-4 timing at 1.8 V.
