A 4 GB DDR3 SODIMM kit (2 × 2 GB) running at 1066 MHz CL7 for the Apple MacBook Pro 15.4-inch Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (Late 2008)
This 4 GB kit contains two 2 GB DDR3 SO-DIMM modules rated at 1066 MHz with CL7 timing. It is built for the Apple MacBook Pro 15.4‑inch Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (Late 2008, model MB470LL/A) and uses the 204‑pin form factor required by that system.
Each stick runs at 1.5 V without ECC or registered buffers, keeping power draw modest in the supported notebook. The unbuffered 2Rx8 design produces minimal heat, so no spreader is needed and acoustic impact stays negligible during typical workloads.
The pair fills both SO-DIMM slots, taking the machine to its 8 GB ceiling when the Boot ROM is updated to version 51.007E.B05 and macOS 10.6 is installed. Buyers needing more than 8 GB or a different DDR generation cannot use this kit.

Remove the bottom case, release the retention clips on both slots, insert each module at an angle until the gold contacts are hidden, then press down firmly until the clips click; the step often missed is updating to Boot ROM version MBP 51.007E. B05 and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard so the system recognises the full 4 GB.
No routine maintenance is required; the unbuffered DDR3 modules have no heat spreader and no moving parts. If a stick fails, replace the individual 2 GB module — the kit carries a limited lifetime warranty from Computer Memory Solutions when purchased directly from them.
The system maximum of 8 GB across the two slots is the first ceiling; with this 4 GB kit installed you still have two free slots, but the DDR3 1066 MHz CL7 specification and the MacBook Pro 5,1 platform cap further expansion at 8 GB total.
