Six-core, twelve-thread desktop CPU with a 4.1 GHz max turbo frequency, 8 MB L3 cache and 65 W TDP, bundled with a Wraith Stealth cooler
The Configurator Ryzen 5 4500 is a 6-core, 12-thread desktop processor built on the 7nm Renoir architecture with a 65W thermal design. It targets builders who need multi-thread throughput for productivity workloads on the AM4 platform without integrated graphics overhead. The boxed unit includes a Wraith Stealth cooler for immediate installation.
Moving from a 4-core AM4 processor to this 6-core model adds two cores and four threads, raising parallel capacity for rendering, compilation and multitasking. The jump is worth it when your current chip hits 100% utilisation across all cores during sustained workloads. Buyers whose tasks stay lightly threaded will not see a proportional gain.
The 8MB L3 cache and 3MB L2 cache feed the 12 threads at up to 4.1 GHz max turbo, handling modern game engines and content-creation pipelines comfortably. Memory runs at DDR4 3200; the 65W envelope limits sustained all-core clocks under heavy AVX loads. Systems needing integrated graphics or higher core counts must look elsewhere.

The processor fits the AM4 socket and ships with the Wraith Stealth cooler, which mounts directly to the standard AM4 retention bracket.
Removing the protective film from the pre-applied thermal paste on the cooler base before locking the four spring screws onto the AM4 mounting bracket.
Replace the paste whenever the cooler is removed for cleaning or upgrade; the original compound dries out after several thermal cycles and should not be reused.
