Three-colour astronomy set

This set contains three Class 3A laser pointers emitting at green 532nm, blue violet 405nm and red 650nm wavelengths. Each unit outputs 5mW and is designed for astronomy pointing and presentation use. The brass barrels share a matte black finish and are powered by two AAA batteries per pointer, which are not included.

Range and visibility limits

The manufacturer states a beam range of over 12,000 ft, making the green and red beams clearly visible in dark skies for star pointing. The blue violet 405nm beam is noted as barely visible to the eye even at full output, so it suits fluorescence work rather than long-distance aiming. All three pointers share the same 5mW power ceiling.

Heat, noise and power draw

The pointers run on standard AAA cells with no active cooling, so they operate silently and generate only modest warmth during continuous use. Battery life will vary with duty cycle, and the brass body acts as a passive heat sink. No mains adapter or rechargeable pack is supplied, keeping the power system simple and field-replaceable.

Questions about this item

Can I use these 5mW pointers with a standard tripod mount for astronomy?

The set contains three separate brass-bodied pens — green 532nm, blue violet 405nm and red 650nm — each powered by two AAA cells; no tripod thread or mounting accessory is mentioned.

How do I verify each laser is emitting at its rated wavelength after inserting batteries?

At night the green 532nm and red 650nm beams are clearly visible in mid-air, while the blue violet 405nm beam is barely visible to the eye; this visual difference matches the stated wavelengths.

What comes in the package and which power source must I supply?

The box holds one 5mW green pointer, one 5mW blue violet pointer and one 5mW red pointer; you must provide two AAA batteries for each pen.
