Adds four USB 3.0 ports at 5 Gbps via a PCIe x1 slot, includes low-profile and standard brackets, requires SATA or IDE power
This PCIe x1 add-in card adds four external USB 3.0 ports to a desktop system. It fits both low-profile and standard brackets for flexible installation. The card targets users who need more SuperSpeed connections for peripherals or external drives. A NEC USB 3.0 driver must be installed before use.
The 9.5 mm low-profile bracket is included alongside a standard bracket for different chassis types. Power is drawn from either a SATA or IDE power connector inside the case. Each port delivers up to 900 mA at 5 V for connected devices. Backward compatibility covers USB 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 equipment.
The card operates over a single-lane PCI Express Gen2 link to provide a 5 Gbps maximum data rate per port. Actual transfer speeds also include 1.5 Mbps, 12 Mbps and 480 Mbps modes for legacy devices. Supported operating systems are Windows 7, 8 and 10 in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Bandwidth is shared across all four ports.

The x1 Gen2 link limits total bandwidth to 5 Gbps, so all four ports share that 5000 Mbps ceiling rather than each reaching it independently.
A 9.5 mm low-profile bracket and a full-height bracket are included; the card draws auxiliary power from either a SATA or an IDE power connector.
Install the NEC USB 3.0 driver supplied by the manufacturer before inserting the card; without it the ports will not enumerate at SuperSpeed.
