External USB 3.0 UHD 4K Blu-ray Burner

This Corn Electronics drive is an external optical writer that connects via USB 3.0 for plug-and-play use. It reads and writes Blu-ray, DVD and CD media and supports playback of commercial UHD 4K discs. The unit is powered through the USB connection and requires no separate power adapter.

Suits users adding optical capability to a laptop.

The drive works with Windows XP through Windows 10 and macOS, making it a simple way to read legacy discs or create backups on systems that lack an internal bay. It is not for buyers who need to write to media larger than 8.5 GB or who require an internal mounting solution.

6× BD-R maximum write speed

The burner writes single-layer BD-R discs at up to 6×, dual-layer BD-R at 4× and BD-RE at 2×, while DVD-R reaches 8× and CD-R 24×. Read speeds match those figures for each format. This write-performance ceiling is the key specification to check against your archiving or authoring workflow.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 6× BD-R and 24× CD-R write speeds are active after I connect the drive?

The drive reports its current write speed in the burning software status bar; select a 6× BD-R or 24× CD-R profile and watch the buffer indicator hold steady through the session.

The box lists USB 3.0 plug-and-play — does it include a cable and do I need a separate power adapter?

A USB 3.0 cable is attached to the unit; the drive draws all power from the port so no external adapter is required.

Should I choose this white model or is there a different capacity version for larger discs?

Only this white version is offered; it handles every disc up to the 8.5 GB limit quoted in the specifications.
