Mini DisplayPort 1.4 bi-directional cable 2-pack

This two-pack provides a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter and a DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort adapter. Each cable complies with the DP 1.4 standard and supports 8K resolution at 60 Hz with a bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps. They suit users who connect laptops or desktops with Mini DisplayPort outputs to monitors or VR headsets that use standard DisplayPort inputs.

Plug-and-play adapters free up port choices

The bi-directional design lets a single cable handle signals from Mini DisplayPort sources to DisplayPort displays or from DisplayPort sources to Mini DisplayPort displays. Aluminium alloy casings and LED indicators add durability and visual confirmation. No drivers or external power are required, so the adapters work immediately with compatible MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Surface Pro, Mac Mini, Oculus Rift S, HTC VIVE Pro, Valve Index and projector equipment.

Sustained 8K 60 Hz signal without compression

Under continuous load the built-in protocol chip maintains the full 32.4 Gbps link, delivering 7680 x 4320 resolution at 60 Hz as well as backward-compatible rates such as 4K at 120 Hz or 144 Hz and 2K at 144 Hz or 165 Hz. The Mini DisplayPort connector does not support Thunderbolt functionality, so buyers needing Thunderbolt data or power delivery must use a different interface.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum bandwidth this Mini DisplayPort 1.4 adapter can sustain for 8K video?

The adapter delivers 32.4Gbps bandwidth, meeting the DisplayPort 1.4 specification for 8K at 60Hz.

Does the adapter generate noticeable heat or require external power during extended use?

It draws power from the connected ports and uses an aluminium alloy casing for passive heat dissipation, so no separate power supply is needed.

Which ports must my source and display already have for this bi-directional 2-pack to work?

One device needs a Mini DisplayPort output and the other a standard DisplayPort input, or vice versa, matching the two adapters supplied.
