A 550 W ATX power supply with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, a single +12 V rail, two PCIe 6+2 connectors, five SATA connectors and a thermally controlled 120 mm fan
Model CX Series (550W)
The Corsair CX550 is a 550 W ATX12V power supply built for mainstream desktop builds. It carries 80 Plus Bronze certification and active PFC for efficient power delivery. A single +12 V rail and LLC resonant topology with DC-to-DC conversion support modern CPUs and chipsets. The unit measures 140 mm in length.
All cables feature black sleeving and connectors for a clean internal appearance. The thermally controlled 120 mm rifle-bearing fan adjusts speed with load to keep noise low. Included connectors are one 24-pin ATX, one EPS12V 4+4-pin, two PCIe 6+2-pin, five SATA and four PATA plugs. Over-voltage protection is built in.
This supply fits systems drawing up to 550 W with one or two graphics cards needing 6+2-pin power. Builds requiring more PCIe connectors, higher wattage or modular cabling should consider other models. The 100–240 V input works worldwide without a voltage switch. Approvals include UL, CE, TUV and RoHS compliance.

Other versions of this model
The fan is part of a unit with a 100000-hour MTBF, so the fan itself is designed for very long service life under normal loads.
The thermally controlled 120mm fan ramps speed based on internal temperature, keeping the unit within its 80 Plus Bronze efficiency envelope up to 550 W continuous output.
At typical loads the 80 Plus Bronze efficiency keeps waste heat low, and the thermally controlled 120mm rifle-bearing fan stays quiet while maintaining safe temperatures.
