Single 120mm PWM fan

The Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE is a white 120mm case fan with eight individually addressable RGB LEDs and a hydraulic bearing. It connects via a standard 4-pin PWM header and spins between 550 and 1500 RPM with a tolerance of +/- 10%. AirGuide anti-vortex vanes concentrate airflow for intake, exhaust or radiator mounting. The translucent blades allow lighting to show through while moving up to 47.73 CFM at 1.46mm-H2O static pressure.

Upgrade from basic fans

This fan replaces single-colour or non-PWM 120mm fans that lack RGB control or focused airflow. The jump is worth it when you need software-synchronised lighting through iCUE and tighter airflow control for radiators or restricted case layouts. It is not suited for builders who need a bundled controller or multiple fans in one package, nor for systems limited to 3-pin voltage control only.

Straightforward 4-pin install

Mounting uses four included screws in standard 120mm holes; the 4-pin PWM connector plugs directly into a motherboard or fan hub. Cable routing is the common snag — ensure the lead reaches the header without tension. The fan requires iCUE software and a compatible RGB header or Lighting Node for full lighting control; without them the LEDs default to a preset pattern. Hydraulic bearing longevity depends on keeping intake paths clear of dust buildup.

Questions about this item

Will the 120mm x 25mm frame fit my standard case fan mounts?

Yes, the fan measures 120mm x 120mm x 25mm, matching the standard 120mm mounting hole spacing used on most cases and radiators.

How do I connect the PWM and RGB cables to my motherboard?

Plug the 4-pin PWM connector into a motherboard fan header and the RGB lead into a 5V addressable RGB header, then control both through iCUE software.

When should I expect to replace the hydraulic bearing?

The hydraulic bearing is rated for long-term continuous operation; replacement is only needed if noise increases noticeably or RPM drops below the 550–1500 range.
