Kitchen Sink Mat Purpose

This polyester area rug measures 20 by 59 inches and is designed for placement in front of a kitchen sink. The dark grey finish suits modern interiors while the non-skid TPR backing keeps the mat stable on hard floors. Machine-made construction and 100 percent polyester fibres provide a soft standing surface that resists shedding and stains. It is sold new and weighs 2.68 pounds.

Absorbency and Maintenance Limits

The surface absorbs splashed water and oil during cooking and dishwashing, keeping the surrounding floor drier. Fibre-locking technology allows repeated machine washing without fibre loss, and the rug can be vacuumed or hose-rinsed for lighter cleaning. After washing, the mat must be completely dry before reuse to maintain slip resistance. It is not intended for areas with standing water or heavy commercial foot traffic.

Backing and Placement Constraints

The TPR non-slip backing performs best on flat, dry hard floors such as tile, laminate or hardwood. Care instructions specify keeping the rug away from heat sources to prevent fire hazards. The backing may not grip effectively on thick carpet or uneven surfaces, and the mat is not rated for outdoor use or stair treads. Dimensions are fixed at 20 by 59 inches, so larger zones require multiple mats.

Questions about this item

Will the 20 by 59 inch rug sit flat on my existing vinyl floor without curling?

The TPR non-skid backing grips smooth floors to keep the rug in place and reduce curling at the edges.

How can I confirm the rug is absorbing spills as intended after I lay it down?

Pour a small amount of water on the surface; the polyester pile should soak it up quickly without pooling.

Does the package include a rug pad or do I need to buy one separately?

No separate pad is required — the integrated TPR backing provides the non-slip layer.
