What this power supply delivers

The COUGAR GEX 1000 is a 1000 W ATX12V unit built for desktop builders who need reliable, efficient power in a compact form. It suits gaming rigs and workstations that demand stable voltage without oversized dimensions. Fully modular cabling keeps the interior tidy and airflow clear.

The spec that decides fit

At 140 mm long this unit fits cases where longer power supplies cannot, making length the critical measurement for compatibility. The 80Plus Gold rating guarantees up to 91 percent efficiency at typical loads. Japanese 105 °C capacitors and DC-DC conversion with LLC and Tri-Sense regulation provide steady output across all rails.

Thermals, noise and power draw

A 120 mm HDB fan runs a refined 0 dB curve so it stays silent at low load and ramps smoothly under stress. The compact 140 mm chassis still moves enough air for sustained 40 °C operation. Protective coatings guard against dust, humidity and oxidation for long-term durability.

Questions about this item

What does the 1000 W rating mean once the unit is installed in a PC?

The power supply can deliver up to 1000 W of continuous power at 40 °C ambient temperature, so a fully loaded gaming or workstation build will receive stable voltage without derating.

Which ATX standard does the unit follow and what does that limit in practice?

It follows the ATX12V specification, which defines the connector layout and voltage rails that modern motherboards and graphics cards expect.

What clearance is needed to fit the 140 mm long chassis in a case?

The case must provide at least 140 mm of clear depth from the mounting face to any drive cage or motherboard tray.
