Classroom Washable Paint 16 oz

Crayola Washable Paint in a 16 oz bottle delivers vivid red colour for classroom and home art projects. The creamy consistency ensures smooth brush flow and even laydown on paper or poster board. Teachers and parents appreciate the non-separating formula that stays ready to use without constant stirring. It is designed for educational settings where reliable, mess-manageable supplies are essential.

Upgrade from Tempera Powder or Smaller Bottles

Switching from dry tempera powder eliminates mixing time and the risk of inconsistent pigment ratios. Moving up from 2 oz or 4 oz bottles reduces the frequency of refills during group activities or extended mural work. The jump is worth it when a single colour sees heavy daily use and teachers need a dependable volume that lasts through a term. The freeze-thaw stable formulation also survives storage temperature swings that can ruin less robust paints.

Limits of Water-Based Washable Formula

The water-based washable formula is not waterproof once dry, so artwork exposed to rain or heavy humidity will re-activate and run. It is not intended for fabric painting that must survive repeated machine washing without fading or bleeding. Coverage on non-porous surfaces such as plastic or glazed ceramic is poor because the paint cannot penetrate and bond. Buyers who need permanent, weather-resistant or fabric-fast results should select a different paint type.

Questions about this item

Does the 16 oz bottle need a separate pump or dispenser to use?

The bottle is a standard 16 oz container with a cap; it pours directly and does not require a separate pump or dispenser to operate.

How do I prepare the Crayola 542016038 paint before the first use, and what step is often missed?

Shake the bottle well before opening to ensure the creamy consistency is fully mixed; the step users often miss is shaking thoroughly after storage.

Will the red paint separate or spoil if stored for a long time between art classes?

The formula is non-separating and freeze-thaw stable, so it remains consistent over long storage periods without spoiling or requiring remixing.
