Compact 5.1 soundbar system

The Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2X combines a 600 mm soundbar with a 116 mm deep subwoofer to deliver 5.1 multi-channel playback from a single HDMI ARC, optical, USB or Bluetooth connection. Peak power reaches 180 W while total RMS output is rated at 90 W across five drivers and a 133 mm subwoofer driver.

Desktop gamers and small-room cinema

Buyers who want immersive surround sound without running rear cables will benefit from the virtualised 5.1 processing and Super X-Fi headphone mode for late-night play. The system is not suited for listeners who require discrete rear speakers or a larger cabinet for higher continuous output in big living spaces.

90 W RMS headroom and 180 W peaks

The 50 W RMS soundbar and 40 W RMS subwoofer comfortably handle gaming effects, film soundtracks and music at desk or bedroom volumes. At sustained high levels in larger rooms the compact enclosure and 90 W total RMS limit will run out of headroom before dedicated floor-standing setups.

Questions about this item

Which ports must my PC or console provide to connect the Sound Blaster Katana V2X?

The soundbar accepts USB, optical, HDMI and Bluetooth connections, and the box includes an optical cable plus a USB-C to USB-A cable for those links.

Will the compact 133 mm subwoofer still deliver low frequencies if I keep my existing stereo speakers?

The system is designed as a complete 5.1 setup with its own mid-range drivers and tweeters; it does not integrate with separate stereo speakers.

How can I confirm the Dolby Audio decoder is active after I connect via HDMI ARC?

The soundbar displays the active input and decoding mode, so selecting the HDMI ARC input will show Dolby Audio when a Dolby-certified source is playing.
