Cross Selectip Gel Refill 2-Pack

The Cross Selectip Gel Rollerball Refill 8523-2 comes as a two-count pack of black ink cartridges with a .4 mm medium point. It is made for professionals who want a smooth, archival-quality gel line in their existing Cross executive pens.

Practical limits of the rollerball standard

Gel rollerball ink lays down more fluid than a ballpoint, so it can feather on low-grade paper and takes a moment longer to dry on glossy surfaces. The refill writes up to 3,700 ft before depletion, a distance set by the ink volume in the cartridge.

Installation and common issues

Drop the refill into a compatible Cross barrel until it seats; no tools are required. The most frequent problem is using the wrong diameter refill, which leaves the tip extended or retracted and prevents writing.
