What the Crucial X6 4TB delivers

The Crucial X6 4TB is a portable solid-state drive that connects over USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and reaches sequential reads up to 800 MBps. It suits photographers, video editors and mobile professionals who need large-capacity external storage in a drive that fits between fingertips and weighs less than car keys.

Check your host port and adapter needs

Verify that your computer, tablet or console offers a USB-C port able to run at USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds; older USB-A ports will require a separate USB-A adapter, which is not included. The drive works with PC, Mac, Android and iPad Pro, while PS4 and Xbox One also need that adapter for connection.

Replacing mechanical hard drives for speed

This SSD replaces 2.5-inch mechanical hard drives used for backups or media libraries, delivering 5.6x faster read performance without moving parts. The upgrade is worth it when you regularly transfer multi-gigabyte files and want silent, drop-resistant operation in a tiny form factor.

Questions about this item

Does the Crucial X6 4TB CT4000X6SSD9 come with a USB-A adapter for older computers?

The drive includes a USB-C cable; PS4, Xbox One and USB-A computers require a USB-A adapter sold separately.

Is the 4TB capacity the only option for the X6 series?

The manufacturer highlights list up to 4TB for this model; other capacities exist in the range but are not detailed here.

Will I see the full 800 MB/s read speed on a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port?

Up to 800 MB/s is the quoted maximum sequential read; real-world throughput depends on the host controller, cable quality and file sizes.
