Dual-band mesh extender

The Cudy RE1200 is a new AC1200 wireless range extender that also works as an access point or Cudy Mesh unit. It targets homeowners who need to push an existing Wi-Fi signal into rooms the main router cannot reach.

Two external antennas and one 10/100 port

Two external high-gain antennas deliver 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. The single Ethernet port lets you create a Wi-Fi hotspot from a wired line or connect a non-Wi-Fi device such as a TV or printer.

Check router compatibility and port speed

Verify your current router supports 802.11ac/a/b/g/n so the extender can link at full rate. The 10/100 Mbps port caps wired throughput at 100 Mbps, so devices needing gigabit LAN will not benefit. Ensure a 100-240 V AC outlet is available at the chosen location.

Questions about this item

Will the two external high-gain antennas need replacement or adjustment later?

The antennas are fixed external units with no moving parts; they do not require scheduled replacement or periodic adjustment.

Does the single 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port become the throughput bottleneck under sustained use?

Yes, the 10/100 Mbps port caps wired traffic at 100 Mbps, which is lower than the 867 Mbps 5 GHz and 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz wireless rates.

How much heat or noise does the RE1200 produce when running all day?

The unit has no fan and operates silently; it is rated for 0 °C to 40 °C ambient temperature during continuous operation.
