Vehicle-Specific Fit

The Curt Manufacturing 56299 Custom Wiring Harness is a new vehicle-specific electrical connector for trailer, plow and towing equipment. It plugs directly into the factory wiring of the matched vehicle without cutting or splicing. This suits owners who want a clean, OEM-style installation for lights and accessories.

Plug-In Installation

The harness uses factory connectors so installation typically requires only basic hand tools and access behind the tail lights or under the dash. The most common issue is corrosion or debris inside the vehicle's OEM sockets, which can prevent a solid connection. Cleaning the contacts before mating the harness avoids intermittent lighting faults.

Compatibility Check

Verify that the 56299 part number matches the exact year, make and model of your vehicle before ordering. Confirm the vehicle has the factory tow-prep wiring or the specific connector style this harness expects. Buyers needing a universal splice-in kit or a different connector pin count should look elsewhere. California Proposition 65 warnings apply.
