Frame Fit for Diplomas

This brown wood frame measures 15x18 inches and is designed for 11x14 inch diplomas, degrees or certificates. It includes white on silver beveled mats with an opening of 10.5x13.5 inches. The frame can also display a 15x18 inch document without the mats. It suits home or office walls where a formal presentation is wanted.

Upgrade From Basic Frames

A simple poster frame without mats leaves documents exposed to light and handling. This frame adds acid-free matting that keeps the paper from touching the acrylic, plus UV resistant acrylic that slows fading. The jump is worth it when the certificate represents a milestone you intend to keep for decades.

Limits of the Acrylic Front

The UV resistant acrylic reduces but does not stop all light damage, so very bright direct sunlight will still cause gradual fading over years. The foam board backing provides rigidity but is not archival museum board, so extremely long-term conservation may need a different backing. The .75 inch moulding depth limits how thick a document or mat stack can sit behind the acrylic.

Questions about this item

What wall space does the 16.5 by 19.5 inch frame need?

The overall dimensions are 16.5 by 19.5 inches, so allow that much clear wall area plus a little extra for the hanging hardware.

How do I hang the frame securely on drywall?

Use the included hanging hardware; drive the screw into a stud or use a drywall anchor, then hook the frame’s sawtooth hanger onto the screw head.

Will the white on silver mat discolour my 11 by 14 diploma over time?

The mats are acid-free, which prevents yellowing and protects the document from acid migration.
