16-Port 10/100 Unmanaged Switch

This D-Link DES-1016D provides sixteen Fast Ethernet ports in a metal chassis that can sit on a desk or be mounted in a standard rack. The unmanaged design means there is no configuration required, so the switch starts forwarding traffic as soon as devices are connected. Auto-negotiation on each port handles 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps links automatically.

Suitable for simple wired networks

The switch suits small offices, classrooms or home labs that need a basic, plug-and-play expansion for wired devices such as PCs, printers or access points. Buyers who require Gigabit speeds, VLAN support, PoE power or any managed features should look at a different model.

Questions about this item

How fast will each of the 16 ports run when I plug in my 10/100 devices?

Every port auto-negotiates to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps full-duplex, so each connected device gets its maximum wired speed without manual setup.

Does the DES-1016D support Gigabit or any faster standard than 10/100?

No, the switch is limited to 10/100 Mbps on all 16 ports and does not negotiate Gigabit speeds.
