The D-Link DKVM-16 is a rackmount KVM switch that lets a single keyboard, monitor and mouse control up to sixteen PS/2 computers. It is built for server rooms and labs where administrators need direct hardware access to multiple legacy systems without extra peripherals.

PS/2 and VGA connectors with rackmount kit

The unit provides sixteen sets of 6-pin Mini-DIN and 15-pin HDDB ports for computer links, plus one matching console set. A 12 V power adapter and rackmount brackets are included, so the switch fits a standard 19-inch rack and draws power from a wall outlet rather than the attached machines.

Video limited to 1920 x 1440 and PS/2-only consoles

The analogue VGA path tops out at 1920 x 1440, so modern high-resolution displays will downscale. Keyboard and mouse must use PS/2 plugs; USB or serial devices are not supported. Daisy-chaining extends control to 128 computers, yet the single console port remains a bottleneck for simultaneous work.
