Retail POS Scanner

The Datalogic QuickScan QD2430-BKK1 is a corded handheld 2D area imager designed for point-of-sale environments. Its omnidirectional reading handles virtually all linear and 2D codes, including those displayed on mobile screens. The lightweight black enclosure balances durability with operator comfort during high-volume shifts. A USB cable is included for immediate connectivity.

Scan Performance Envelope

The imager resolves linear codes down to 0.102 mm and tolerates a minimum 25% print contrast ratio. Aiming uses two blue LEDs with red illumination between 610 and 650 nm to reduce eye fatigue. Motion tolerance covers ±65° pitch, ±60° yaw and full 360° roll. Typical operating current is 140 mA at 5 VDC, dropping to 50 mA in standby.

USB Corded Connectivity

The scanner draws power directly from the host via a 2-metre USB Type A cable certified for Power Off Terminal operation. Input voltage range is 4.5 to 14 VDC with ±10% tolerance, so no external adapter is required. Multi-interface support is built in, but the kit ships configured for USB only. Wireless or batch-mode workflows are not supported.

Questions about this item

Will the QD2430-BKK1 work with my existing POS terminal that only has USB-A ports?

Yes, the kit includes a 2 m USB-A cable certified for power-off-terminal operation, so it plugs straight into a standard USB-A port without an adapter.

How can I verify the scanner is reading correctly after I plug it in?

Scan a test barcode; the red 610–650 nm illumination and dual blue LED aiming triangles will appear, and a good read is confirmed by the built-in beeper and green LED flash.

Does the box contain everything needed to start scanning, or do I need a separate power supply?

The box supplies the handheld imager and the 2 m USB cable; no external power supply is required because the scanner draws 140 mA typical from the USB port.
