Epson H552C replacement lamp

The DataStor Epson H552C ELPLP87 is a new UHE projector lamp module rated at 215 W with a 5 000-hour rated life. It ships as a fully assembled bulb and housing for direct installation in compatible Epson projectors.

Upgrade from a dim or expired lamp

Replacing an aged lamp restores original brightness and colour accuracy when the existing unit has reached its rated hours or shows flickering. The jump is worth it when image quality has dropped below usable levels for presentations or home viewing.

Practical limits of UHE technology

UHE lamps operate at a fixed 215 W power draw and a finite 5 000-hour cycle, so brightness will gradually decline over that period. Users needing longer intervals between changes or lower power consumption would need a different projector platform.

Questions about this item

Does the ELPLP87 lamp module include the housing so it fits directly into the projector?

Yes, the H552C module ships as a fully assembled 215 W UHE bulb inside its housing, ready to slide into the projector without extra parts.

What is the common mistake when installing the ELPLP87 lamp?

Forgetting to reset the projector lamp-hour counter after fitting the new 5,000-hour module, which leaves the replacement timer inaccurate.

How often will the ELPLP87 lamp need replacement under typical use?

The UHE bulb is rated for 5,000 hours of operation; plan on a new lamp module once that runtime is reached.
