Tension Pulley 89006

The Dayco 89006 is a new tension pulley built for automotive belt-drive systems. It fits applications that reference industry number 89006 and is intended for technicians or vehicle owners performing scheduled maintenance or belt replacement.

Direct-replacement design

The pulley matches the original equipment profile so installation proceeds without modification to brackets or belt routing. No additional hardware or software is included in the package, keeping the repair focused on the single wear component.

Service-life headroom

The steel bearing and polymer running surface handle normal accessory-drive loads across typical service intervals. It is not suited for heavily modified engines that exceed factory belt tension or for non-automotive industrial drives.

Questions about this item

Will the Dayco 89006 tension pulley need periodic bearing lubrication or full unit replacement?

The pulley uses a sealed bearing that cannot be lubricated; plan to replace the entire assembly when noise or play appears.

What is the first limit reached during continuous high-RPM engine operation?

The sealed bearing's heat tolerance is the limiting factor; sustained high speed and load will degrade the grease and cause premature failure.

Does the Dayco 89006 run quietly and stay cool when the engine idles all day?

A new unit operates quietly with minimal parasitic drag; bearing noise or excessive housing heat signals the sealed bearing is wearing out.
