  • Product typeTraffic & Parking Lot
  • Galvanised steel resists corrosion for long outdoor life

Cable Construction

This 50 ft galvanised steel cable uses a 1 x 19 strand configuration for a smooth, uncoated finish. The 1/8 in outside diameter provides a working load limit of 420 lb. It is sold new and intended for traffic and parking lot applications.

Suitable Uses

The cable suits installations requiring a single 50 ft length with a 420 lb working load limit. Buyers who need a different length, a higher working load limit or a coated finish should look at other options.

Capacity and Headroom

The 1 x 19 construction handles straight tension loads up to the 420 lb working load limit. It runs out when the application demands a longer continuous run, a greater working load or a protective coating.

Questions about this item

What fittings do I need to terminate the 1/8 in. galvanised steel cable?

The cable has no end fittings, so you must supply thimbles, wire-rope clips or swaged sleeves rated for 1/8 in. diameter and the 420 lb working load limit.

Can I mix this 1x19 strand cable with older 7x7 cable on the same run?

Mixing strand constructions changes stiffness and fatigue behaviour; use matching 1x19 cable throughout a single tensioned run for consistent performance.

How do I verify the 50 ft cable meets the 420 lb working load after installation?

Apply a calibrated proof load not exceeding 420 lb and confirm no permanent deformation or strand slippage at the terminations.
