A lever chain hoist lifts loads up to 3,000 lb with a 15 ft lift height and 49 lb pull force
The Dayton 48ME56 is a lever chain hoist rated for a 3,000 lb load capacity and a 15 ft hoist lift. It is designed for lifting and positioning heavy materials in yard, traffic and parking lot maintenance tasks. Builders who need a longer lift height or a higher load rating should choose a different model.
Manual operation means the hoist produces no motor heat, no electrical draw and no mechanical noise during use. The only effort required is the 49 lb pull force on the 16-17/32 in lever to raise the rated load. Overload protection is not included, so the operator must stay within the stated capacity.
A Weston-style double disc brake holds the load securely when the lever is released. The hoist meets ANSI/ASME B 30.21 and EN13157 standards and uses Grade 80 alloy steel chain with safety latch hooks. Buyers who require integrated overload protection will need an alternative device.

Mount the housing so the hooks align with the 15-3/4 in minimum spacing, then verify the Weston-style double disc brake engages before applying the 49 lb pull force on the 16-17/32 in lever.
Inspect the 15-55/64 ft G80 chain links for wear or stretch, lubricate the zinc-plated chain guides, and check the powder-coated side plates for corrosion per ANSI/ASME B30.21 intervals.
The operator must supply a continuous 49 lb pull on the 16-17/32 in lever; fatigue from that effort typically limits duty cycles before the brake or chain reaches its rated capacity.
